In development, early access coming soon
Your meeting ends. The note is already written.
Afterword lives in your menu bar. It records the call, transcribes it on your Mac, and saves clean markdown to your folder.
Afterword is out. Download for Mac and try it with your key.
It starts by itself.
When a Zoom, Meet, or Teams call begins, Afterword starts recording. You never press a button.
Zoom · recording 00:00:01
It stays on your Mac.
Transcription runs on your Mac. The audio and the text never leave the machine.
Then, one quiet minute.
When the call ends, Afterword plays a one-minute calm sound. You reset before you read.
The note lands in your folder.
Each call becomes a clean markdown file. It saves to the folder you pick, such as your Obsidian vault.

Questions.
Short answers about privacy, apps, and price.
No. Afterword records and transcribes on your Mac. The audio and the text stay on the machine, and the note is saved to a folder you choose. The app only goes online to activate your key, to check for updates and, for monthly or yearly plans, to confirm the subscription is still active. None of that includes your audio or notes.
Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. Afterword starts recording when a call begins in any of them.
macOS 26 Tahoe or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer). Transcripts work on all of them. The summaries are written by Apple Intelligence, so turn it on in System Settings to get those too.
Yes. Turn on Tuned for atypical speech in Settings and Afterword uses Apple's on-device model built for stutters, lisps and other speech differences. It also tidies ums and repeats out of the note by default, so it reads the way you meant it, and you can add names and words it should know.
Set the language you speak and the language they speak, and Afterword translates them into yours as they talk, on your Mac. Both their words and the translation go in the note. After the call it can also tidy broken English and misheard words into clear sentences, and it keeps the word-for-word version too.
Afterword shows a visible recording indicator whenever it records, and a notice on first run. You are responsible for telling participants they are being recorded where the law requires it.
